HOW IT HAPPENED

- RIT trailed 3-0 heading into the third after Trevor Hoskin intercepted a pass at the top of the Niagara zone and skated back the other way to deke Burnham, glove side, to finish the one-on-one opportunity with 4.6 left in the second.
- The Purple Eagles scored three times in the first three minutes of the third for a 6-0 lead. Hoskin stole a puck in the left faceoff circle and fed Jay Ahern in the slot for a wrist shot inside the left post 21 seconds into the period before Noah Hackett sent a puck out of the left corner to Andy Reist for a one-timer in the slot at 1:28.
