Six things you need to know about the 2024-25 Women's Track & Field team

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's track & field team starts its 2024-25 season on Friday (Dec. 6) at Nazareth's Alumni Open. Here are six things you need to know about this year's team.

LAST SEASON
Head coach David Warth returns for his 28th season after the Tigers finished third at the Liberty League Indoor before placing eighth at the Atlantic Region Indoor Championships. Junior sprinter Sadie Rose qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 200m event and finished ninth out of 20 participants.

INDOOR NATIONALS CLOSE TO HOME
Should any athletes qualify, this season's NCAA Division III Indoor Championship will be held at the nearby Golisano Training Center on the campus of Nazareth University, March 14-15. The facility hosted last year's Atlantic Region Indoor Championships.

SPRINTS & HURDLES
Along with Rose, senior Caroline Hill returns as one of the top sprinters for RIT. Hill placed third in the 200m at last year's conference championship meet as well as posting an eighth place finish in the 60m.  Hill and Rose also teamed with Samantha Crisci and Abby Nautel to win the 4x400m relay.

FIELD EVENTS
Senior Allison Regante returns after having placed 20th in the long jump in addition to finishing 14th in the 60m hurdles at the 2024 Atlantic Region Indoor Championships. Senior thrower Emily DiMarco also returns this season, coming off a Liberty League Indoor title in the shot put and a fifth place finish in the weight throw.

DISTANCE
Nautel, Hill, and senior Sierra Danieu make up three of the four members of the Distance Medley relay team that placed fourth at the Atlantic Regional Indoor Championships after placing second at the Liberty League Indoor Championships. Individually, Danieu recorded a regional qualifying time in the Mile at the conference meet after finishing 11th overall.

2024-25 SCHEDULE
The indoor season begins Friday at the Nazareth Alumni Open. After a holiday break, RIT will compete at the Brockport Invitational (Jan. 17), before hosting two home meets at Gordon Field House on Friday, Jan. 24 and Thursday, Jan. 30. The Tigers will then take part in the Brockport Multi and Invitational (Feb. 7 and 8).

On Feb. 15, some Tigers will head to Cornell's Kane Invitational while other will participate in the D3 Elite Invitational at Nazareth. RIT will then compete in the Nazareth Conference Tune-Up (Feb. 21), followed by the Liberty League Championships (Feb. 28 – Mar. 1) hosted by Ithaca. The next week is the Atlantic Region Championships (Mar. 7-8) at Ithaca, followed by the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at Nazareth (Mar. 14-15).
