Women's Soccer wins 1-0 at No. 22 Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – RIT senior midfielder Jessie Gomez scored with 35 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Tigers to a 1-0 win at No. 22 Clarkson, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First-year midfielder Emma Pedro had a shot hit off the right post in the sixth minute, while sophomore defender Roberta Moger narrowly missed the post on her shot in the 41st minute.
  • Sophomore midfielder Jillian Antol had a shot in the 47th minute saved, while sophomore goalkeeper Emily Sanchez stopped a Callie Abel shot in the 54th minute.
  • Gomez scored into the top-left corner in the 90th minute off an assist from senior midfielder Corinne Amato. Amato headed a ball to Gomez off a corner-kick, who volleyed a shot into the net for the game-winner.

 
GAME NOTES:

  • RIT outshot Clarkson, 11-9.
  • Sanchez made five saves in net to earn the win.
  • RIT sophomore forward Elena Onodera had three shots on target.
