Women's Volleyball falls to Neumann, 3-2 and Widener, 3-0
CHESTER, Pa. - The RIT Women's Volleyball team lost both ends of a tri-match, Saturday, falling to Neumann, 3-2 (26-24, 13-25, 25-18, 24-26, 17-15) and host Widener, 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-15).

- Trailing, 6-5, early in the first, RIT used a 6-1 run to build a 11-7 lead. Neumann came back to tie it with a 5-1 run, 12-12, and later broke a 19-19 tie with a 4-1 for a 23-20 lead. RIT fought off two set points to tie the score, 24-24, but Neumann scored two-straight points to take the opener.
- Leading, 6-3, in the second, RIT scored an 8-3 run to pull out to a 14-6 lead. The Tigers later scored four-unanswered points to build a 22-10 lead that proved insurmountable.
- The teams played a tight third set before Neumann used a 7-1 run to build a 22-15 lead that proved decisive.
- Neuman opened the fourth set with a 7-2 lead, but RIT bounced back with an 11-3 run to take a 13-10 lead. The Tigers later lead, 20-17, but Neuman scored four-straight points to take a 21-20 edge. RIT scored four of the next five points for set point, 24-22, but Neumann re-tied the score with back-to-back points. RIT won the set after a pair of Neumann errors to force a deciding fifth set.
- RIT opened the final set with a 10-4 lead, but Neumann got back within two, 10-8, with four-straight points. The Tigers reached match point with a 4-0 surge, 14-8, but Neumann won the next seven points to take a 15-14 lead.

- RIT opened a 5-2 lead in the first set, but Widener rode a 14-5 run to a 16-10 lead. The Tigers scored three-straight points to pull within three, 16-13, but Widener scored the next six points to kick off a 9-3 run to finish the first.
- Leading, 9-6, early in the second, Widener scored five-straight points to start an 11-2 surge for a decisive 20-8 lead.
- Widener started the third set with a 10-3 lead that later grew to eight, 19-11. RIT scored four of the next six points to pull back within six, 21-15, but Widener scored the final four points to seal the sweep.
