Men's tennis drops home match to conference rival Union

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (3-4, 0-3 Liberty League) fell to Liberty League foe Union College (3-0, 2-0 Liberty League) from the Midtown Athletic Club Sunday afternoon.
 
Union would win two of three doubles points. RIT's Brennan Bull and Jacob Meyerson earned RIT's lone doubles point in a great tussle against Union's Austin Egna and Max Egna at the first position. With the matched tied at 7-7, Bull and Meyerson would take the tiebreaker, 7-2 for the 8-7 victory.
 
Bull and Ioannis Binopoulos went to three sets at first singles. Bull won the first set, 6-4, before Binopoulos took set two, 6-2 and set three, 6-1.  Patrick Mathews earned RIT's lone singles point in a three-set thriller versus Austin Egna. Mathews won the first set, 7-5 before Egna came back to win set two, 6-4. Mathews won the match with a 6-4 victory in the third and decisive set.
 
RIT returns to action on Tuesday, with a home match at 3 p.m. against Alfred University from the Gordon Field House.
