Welcome to the GeekED Conference! Our mission is to explore the dynamic intersection of geek culture and therapeutic practices, pioneering new pathways for mental health professionals to connect with and empower their clients. Founded by a dedicated team of psychologists, therapists, and aficionados of geek culture, our conference seeks to illuminate the profound impact that video games, comics, science fiction, and fantasy can have on therapeutic outcomes. We are committed to advancing evidence-based treatment planning, ethical practices, diverse therapeutic modalities, and informed policy-making in mental health care. By fostering a community of learning, sharing, and innovation, the Geek Culture in Therapy Conference aims to equip professionals with cutting-edge tools and insights that resonate with the unique interests and narratives of their clients. Deaf and hard-of-hearing high school students and their families are invited to attend RIT/NTID's Tour and Group Information Friday event. Learn abut our academic programs, campus life, and the application process, and see first-hand what amazing looks like. Admissions counselors will be available to meet with you. Lunch will be provided and once you attend this event your application fee will be waived.

The goal of this workshop is to prepare RIT Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scholars for success in the academic job market. The program will familiarize participants with all aspects of the faculty search process. Dedicated writing time will be provided to begin or revise your application documents, as well as to receive feedback. This workshop is targeted towards those entering the academic job market in Fall 2025 (those graduating in Summer 2026). Lunch will be provided.

This training will be given entirely in ASL. This training is not available to individuals outside of the RIT community.
