Women’s Soccer defeats Mount St. Mary (NY) 6-1
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's soccer team put together a dominating win against visiting Mount St. Mary (NY) Saturday afternoon, 6-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers got on the board first with a goal from senior Olivia Harris less than three minutes into the game.
- Senior Abby Umbenhaur scored in the 18th minute for RIT, her first for the year.
- Five minutes later, Valeria Luzio, a first-year, notched her first career goal for the Tigers.
- The visiting Knights scored their lone goal in the 30th minute when Kaitlin Hansen found the back of the net.
- In the second half, junior Elena Onodera scored consecutive goals in the 50th and 61st minutes to extend the Tigers' lead.
- The final goal for RIT came off a free kick from midfield by Anya Sander, a sophomore, when the ball bounced high and found its way past a stranded Knights goalkeeper who was off her line.
GAME NOTES
- Junior Roberta Moger, Harris, and Onodera all finished the game with a pair of assists respectively.
- Junior Emily Sanchez and first-year Avery Donnelly each played 45 minutes in goal for the Tigers to help earn the win.

RIT wrap up their three-game homestand when the Tigers host SUNY Geneseo at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th.
