Women's Track & Field hosts RIT's first Friday meet
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's track & field team competed at the first RIT Friday Meet of the year at Gordon Field House, Friday.
- Sophomore Sadie Rose placed first in the 200 (25.27) and 300 (40.78), setting program records in both events while also notching an Atlantic Region Championship-qualifying time in the 200
- Senior Katie Cobos won the 5,000 with an Atlantic Region Championship-qualifying time of 18:12.34
- Junior Caroline Hill placed first in the 400 (1:00.47) and second in the 200 (26.26), qualifying for the Atlantic Region Championship in both events
- The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Samantha Crisci, senior Violet Ameele, junior Justine Draper and Rose, placed first with a time of 4:17.29
- Graduate pole vaulter Catherine Fox placed first with a height of 3.55m, qualifying for the Atlantic Region Championship
- Graduate Amelia Gilbert finished second in the mile with a time of 5:20.27
- Junior Allison Regnante placed second in the 60 hurdles (9.45), qualifying for the Atlantic Region Championship
- First-year Rachael Ladd finished second in the 3,000 with a time of 11:21.22
- Ameele also placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.28m
- Sophomore Rania Sabri tied for second in the high jump with a height of 1.47m
The Tigers compete in the two-day Brockport Multi Invitational next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 2-3). Friday's events begin at 3:00 p.m., while Saturday's competition begins at 10:00 a.m.
