ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly honors. Senior Lily DePalma was the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Performer of the Week.
On the men's side, junior Chase Bruno was the Men's Lacrosse Offensive Performer of the Week and junior Alex Zborowski was the Defensive Performer of the Week. Graduate student Drew Scheib was the Men's Swimmer of the Week while senior Gellert Kish was the Diver of the Week.
DePalma recorded 10 points on nine goals and an assist to lead RIT to a pair of Liberty League road wins. The senior attacker scored a career-high six goals and tied her career-best with seven points in the Tigers 16-13 win at Skidmore, Friday. DePalma scored three goals in Saturday's 15-12 win at Union.
Bruno recorded six points on five goals and an assist to help lead No. 3 RIT to a 2-0 record. The junior midfielder scored a goal and added an assist in the Tiger's 19-4 win at St. John Fisher, Wednesday. He scored a career-high four goals on 5-of-7 shooting in RIT's 13-10 win over No. 4 RPI, Saturday.
Zborowski recorded a 2-0 record, a 6.85 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage to lead No. 3 RIT to a 2-0 record. The junior goalie made nine saves in the Tigers 19-4 win at St. John Fisher, Wednesday. Zborowski made a season-high 15 saves in RIT's 13-10 win over No. 4 RPI, Saturday.
Kish earned First Team All-America honors in the 1M and 3M diving events at the NCAA Division III National Championships last week. Kish placed seventh in the 1M and sixth in the 3M with scores of 476.10 and 492.65 respectively.
Scheib placed 15th in the 100 Fly to earn Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Championships. He swam legs in the 200 and 400 Medley relays that finished 14th to earn Second Team All-American accolades. In addition, Scheib swam a leg in the 200 Free relay that finished eighth to earn First Team All-America honors.
