Women's Hockey shuts out Lindenwood 4-0 in AHA Quarterfinal
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first year forward Kailey Favro recorded a career-high three points to lead the No. 4 Tigers to a 4-0 win over No. 5 Lindenwood in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Hockey America Tournament.
Senior forward Kylie Aquaro had a goal and two assists. Sophomore forward Addie Alvarez and sophomore Emma Pickering eac had two assists and sophomore forward Linda Rulle scored a goal. Senior goalie Sarah Coe made 25 saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aquaro scored at 6:20 of the first period off assists from Favro and first year forward Brac Kelley to give RIT the lead.
- Rulle scored a power play goal at 12:42 of the first period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Alvarez fired a shot from the point that Rulle tipped in to give RIT a two-goal lead.
- Favro scored a power play goal at 5:43 of the second period to increase RIT's lead to 3-0. She tipped in a shot from in front off a shot from Alvarez.
- Favro scored her second goal of the game at 18:51 of the second period to give RIT a 4-0 lead. She redirected a shot from Pickering past Lindenwood goalie Anna LaRose.
- Coe made 10 of her 25 saves in a scoreless third period.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot Lindenwood 36-25
- The Tigers went 2-for-2 on the power play.
- It is the first playoff win for the Tigers since RIT beat Lindenwood 6-4 on Feb. 24, 2022
