Women's Hockey downs Lindenwood 9-4

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Jordyn Bear tallied her first career hat-trick to lead the Tigers to a 9-4 win over Lindenwood in Atlantic Hockey America action, Friday.
 
Senior forward Megan McCormick tallied two goals and an assist, first year forward Kailey Favro scored two goals, sophomore forward Addie Alvarez had four assists and senior forward Kylie Aquaro had three assists.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Favro scored 31 seconds into the game to give RIT a 1-0 lead. The Tigers broke out of their defensive zone. First year forward Brac Kelley fed Favro with a pass and she scored on a shot into the low corner.
  • McCormick scored at 2:09 of the period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead on a wrist-shot from the face off dot.
  • McCormick scored her second of the game at 12:55 of the opening frame to extend the Tiger's lead to 3-0. First year forward Ireland Stein sent a pass from behind the Lindenwood net to McCormick who scored into the open net.
  • Bear scored 35 seconds into the second period to give RIT a 4-0 lead.
  • Lindenwood's Josey Dunne scored at 3:57 to cut the deficit to 4-1.
  • Zsofia Pazmandi tallied a power play goal at 13:24 to cut the RIT lead to 4-2.
  • Bear scored her second of the game at 15:55 to give the Tigers 5-2 lead. Aquaro centered a pass to Bear in front who found the corner.
  • Sophomore forward Linda Rulle scored off an assist from McCormick at 17:32 of the period to extend the Tiger's lead to 6-2.
  • Favro scored her second of the game 5:36 into the third period to give RIT a 7-2 lead. Aquaro centered a pass to Favro who scored on a one-timer from the slot.
  • Pazmandi tallied her second goal of the game at 12:03 to make it a 7-3
  • First year forward Brac Kelley scored at 15:23, Aquaro scored at 16:35 and Bear tallied her third of the game at 16:35 to make it 9-3.
  • Sydney Rarick scored at 19:44 to make it a 9-4 final.

  • The Tigers went 1-for-2 on the power play and have scored seven power play goals in their last 12 chances
