GENEVA, N.Y. – RIT junior Kira Kronenberg and sophomore Maya McDaniel placed first in the "A" Doubles Flight at the Mary Hosking Invitational.
Kronenberg and McDaniel beat Ariane Karera and Eleanor McDermod (St. Lawrence), 6-3 in their opening match, and defeated Skylar Semon and Claire Langille (Union), 6-1 in the quarterfinal. The duo beat Anushka Jaiswal and Nicole Ridenour, 6-2 in the semifinal before a 6-3 win over Molly Jesperson and A. Aksdal-Jansen (St. Lawrence) in the championship match.
Kronenberg defeated Sarah Odland (St. Lawrence) in her opening match in the "B" Singles Flight. She went on to beat Jaiswal, 8-1 in the quarterfinal before an 8-6 win over Kaaviya Kannan in the semifinal.
RIT returns to action on Friday (Sept. 26) for the first day of competition at the ITA Northeast Regional Championship at Skidmore.
