Men's Tennis beats St. John Fisher and Nazareth, 7-0
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's tennis team swept a pair of matches against St. John Fisher and Nazareth winning both matches 7-0, Sunday.
ST JOHN FISHER:
- Sophomores Yu Tanimoto and Alexander Sinclair beat Tyler Hernandez and Finn Whitaker 6-1 at first doubles.
- Senior Gabriel Escobar and junior Luke Weber defeated Sean Brown and Trentyn Grant 6-0 at second doubles and first year Anjann Sai Bharadwaj Boorela and sophomore Tyler Mitrovic beat Matthew Lincoln and Charlie Roberts 6-1 at third doubles.
- Tanimoto, Sinclair, Escobar, Mitrovic, Weber and Bharadwaj Boorela all won their singles matches in straight sets.
NAZARETH:
- Junior Alec Turcotte and first year Evan Ly beat Max Funiciello and Pierre Ntonga 6-1 at first doubles.
- Junior Anthony Lounder and first year Greg Sauer beat Nathan Bigelow and David Tuller 6-1 at second doubles, while first year Nikko Tuxford and Trent Sauer beat Timmy Taylor and Noah Britton 6-0 at third doubles.
- Turcotte, Ly, G. Sauer, T. Sauer, Lounder and Tuxford each won their singles matches in straight sets.
