Women's Basketball loses at home to Brockport, 79-68

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team lost at home to Brockport, 79-68, in a non-conference game, Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After leading by eight at the end of the first quarter, RIT used a 10-2 run in the second to take a 13 point advantage with 4:19 remaining in the half. The run was capped off by a three-pointer from first year forward Ben Kayser-Cochran.
  • The Tigers led by as much as 17 points early in the fourth quarter, before Brockport chiseled away at the deficit.
  • The Golden Eagles shut down RIT with a 21-3 run which was book ended by made free throws from Cam Tooley. As a team, Brockport went 8 of 10 from the field while forcing seven turnovers by the Tigers during the nearly six minute span.
  • Brockport took the lead with 3:21 left on the clock and sealed the win with a total of 34 points in the fourth quarter.

 
GAME NOTES

  • First year guard Caroline Henderson led all scorers with 23 points, going 7 of 14 from long range. The newcomer is averaging 13.8 points per game through six games for RIT.
  • Sophomore forward Faye Kaplinksi added 11 points on the night as sophomore Maddy Ramsgard chipped in 10 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
  • Tooley finished with 18 points and eight rebounds for Brockport.
