Men's Lacrosse place 11 on 2025 Liberty League All-Conference Team

ROCHESTER, NY -- Eleven members from the RIT men's lacrosse team were named to the 2025 Liberty League All-Conference team announced Tuesday, May 6. Senior Clifford Gaston was named the Offensive Player of the Year and head coach Jake Coon and assistant coaches Shawn Wilkins, Connor Whipple and Kaden Brunson were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.  
 
Gaston, senior Nate Senez and graduate students Ian Dinga and Seth Grottenthaler were first team selections. Juniors Chase Bruno and Alex Zborowski, sophomore Logan Fletcher and fifth years Drew Leahy and Hunter FitzGibbons were second team picks. Fifth year Connor Finneran and graduate student Allyn French were honorable mention selections.  
 
Gaston leads the Liberty League with 73 points and 57 goals. The 2024 First Team All-Liberty League selection is averaging 4.56 points and 3.56 goals per game. He tallied 26 points and 22 goals in Liberty League play including a season high seven goals and eight points against Skidmore. Gaston had an assist in Sunday's Liberty League championship to become the second player in program history to reach 300 career points.  
 
Senez is second on the team and tied for second in the league with 69 points and leads the conference with 42 assists, averaging 2.21 per game. He recorded 22 points and 13 assists in Liberty League play, including a season-high seven assists and eight points against Skidmore (April 4). Senez scored a goal and had four assists in two Liberty League Tournament games.
 
Dinga is third on the team with a career-high 48 points on 24 goals and 24 assists, each career bests. He is sixth in the Liberty League with 24 assists, averaging 1.26 per game. Dinga recorded 20 points in Liberty League play, including a career-high four goals at Clarkson. He tallied four points in the Liberty League Tournament, including two goals against St. Lawrence in the championship game.
 
Grottenthaler is sixth on the team in scoring with 34 points on 23 goals and 11 assists. He recorded nine points in Liberty League play, including two goals and an assist at Union (March 26). A 2024 Second Team All-Liberty League selection, Grottenthaler recorded four points in the Liberty League Tournament, including three goals in the title game to earn Most Outstanding Player honors.
 
Bruno is fifth on the team in scoring with a career-high 37 points on 22 goals and 15 assists. He recorded 16 points on 10 goals and six assists in Liberty League play, including a career-high four goals against RPI (March 22). Bruno had a career-high six points on three goals and three assists at Clarkson (March 12). The junior midfielder tallied a goal and two assists against St. Lawrence in the Liberty League championship.
 
Fletcher leads RIT and is tied for fifth in the Liberty League with 25 caused turnovers, averaging 1.32 per game. He is fifth on the team with 41 ground balls to go along with three goals and an assist. Fletcher had 15 caused turnovers and 19 ground balls in Liberty League play. He had three caused turnovers against RPI (March 22) and at Vassar (March 29) and a season-high six ground balls against St. Lawrence (March 19).
 
Leahy is second on the team with a career-high 16 caused turnovers and is tied for third on the team with a career-best 43 ground balls. He had six caused turnovers and 16 ground balls in Liberty League play, including four ground balls against RPI (March 22) and Clarkson (April 12). Leahy had five ground balls and caused a turnover against St. Lawrence in the Liberty League championship.
 
FitzGibbons is third on the team with a career-high 15 caused turnovers to go along with 32 ground balls. He had seven caused turnovers and 13 ground balls in Liberty League play, including five ground balls and two caused turnovers against St. Lawrence (March 19).  
 
Zborowski is 18-1 and is second in the Liberty League with a 7.97 goals-against average and fourth with a .585 save percentage. A 2024 Honorable Mention All-Liberty League selection, Zborowski posted a 6.73 goals-against average and a .633 save percentage in Liberty League play. He made 10 or mores saves eight times, including a season-high 15 saves against RPI (March 22) and St. Lawrence (April 19). Zborowski was 2-0 with a 9.14 goals-against average and a .538 save percentage in the Liberty League Tournament.
 
French is sixth in the Liberty League winning 58.9 percent of his face-offs and leads the team with 61 ground balls. He won 55.3 percent in Liberty League play and grabbed 11 ground balls. A 2024 Honorable Mention All-Liberty League selection, French won a season-high 15 face offs against St. Lawrence in the Liberty League championship.
 
Finneran had eight caused turnovers and 28 ground balls, each career highs to go along with six points on two goals and a career-best four assists. He had two caused turnovers and nine ground balls in Liberty League play and scooped up three ground balls against St. Lawrence in the Liberty League championship.
 

RIT (18-1) received an automatic bid into the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship and will face Ohio Northern or Aurora in the second round on Friday (May 10) at 12:00 p.m.
