Allen named Atlantic Hockey America Rookie of the Week
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first-year defenseman Tristan Allen was named the Atlantic Hockey America Rookie of the Week, Monday.
Allen won the award for the first time and joins fellow first-year goaltender Jakub Krbecek, who landed the honor in back-to-back weeks (Oct. 7-14) to start the season.
Allen totaled four points last week, including a power play goal and an assist versus Canisius last Tuesday. He also logged an assist in both ends of last weekend's series versus Robert Morris, including the primary assist on the overtime game-winning goal to propel the Tigers to a 4-3 victory over the Colonials.
Allen currently ranks fourth for the Tigers with 12 points and is tied for second with 10 assists. He has scored seven points on a goal and seven assists over RIT's last eight games and rides a four-game point streak into the winter break.
RIT is off for three weeks before traveling to Bowling Green on Saturday, Dec. 29, for a 3:00 p.m. rematch with the Falcons. The Tigers fell, 2-1, in overtime to Bowling Green on Oct. 19th in a game played at Blue Cross Arena during Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.
