SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The RIT men's rowing team opened the spring season at a meet hosted by Skidmore on Fish Creek, Saturday.
RIT won the Varsity Four race with a time of 7:38, beating out the hosts by one second. The boat was rowed by Adam Dernis, Ivan Keenan, Bryce Edge, Andrew Meyer, and coxswain Evelyn Wheel.
The Tigers' Nick Staley, Adam Hunt, Tommy Moore, Nick Ricotta, Alex Nenadic, Tyler Emerson, Gideon DeMarco, Nicolas Langdon and coxswain Jacob Marrer competed in the Varsity 8, placing third with a time of 6:32. Vassar won the race with Skidmore taking second.
In the Second Varsity 8 race, RIT's Cole DiManno, Gavin McIlvaine, Gerald Porretta II, Tom Kirkham, Shane Guasteferro, David Griffith, Parker Kinsman, and coxswain Jackson Blazek took second (6:53) behind Skidmore (6:31).
