Five wrestlers earn NWCA Scholar All-American accolades

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five RIT wrestlers were named 2025 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar All-Americans.
 
Seniors Michael Glynn III (Mechanical Engineering) and Lee Rubin (Cybersecurity), junior Josh Harkless (Mechanical Engineering), sophomore Tyler Balent (Mechanical Engineering) and first year Jack Lamson (Applied Statistics) were honored.
 
Glynn is a four-time Scholar All-American; Harkless is a three-time honoree and Rubin received the honor for the second time.  
 
The NWCA honored 464 individuals from 102 Division III institutions. To qualify a wrestler must place in the top eight at the regional tournament or wrestler in at least 15 matches and have a winning percentage greater than 66 percent. A wrestler must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer praised the student-athletes, stating, "The NWCA is proud to honor these outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom."

No. 20 RIT finished 19th at the 2025 NCAA Championships. Harkless finished third at 285 lb. and Glynn placed eighth at 149 lb. to earn All-American honors.
