Men’s Track & Field 4x400 Relay advances to finals at NCAA Championships

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – RIT advanced to finals of the 4x400 relay on the first day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Nazareth at the Golisano Training Center. 
 
Senior Max Stein led off with a 50.11 clocking before senior Noah Flanders and first-year John Elliot followed with identical 49.32 legs. Sophomore Jack DeFeo finished with a 48.41 anchor leg for a 3:17.14 finish.

The Tigers crossed third out of four teams in the final heat, but advanced with the eighth-fastest time out of the 12 teams in the field.

Cortland logged the day's fastest time at 3:14.26, followed by Bethel (Minn.) (3:14.85) and the College of New Jersey (3:15.75). Wisconsin-La Crosse (3:15.87), Loras (3:16.72) and Rowan (3:16.95) also qualified for Saturday's final, scheduled for 6:20 p.m.

RIT finished .22 ahead of Dubuque (3:17.36), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (3:17.62), Geneseo (3:17.63) and RPI (3:17.98). Colby was disqualified.
