Women's Lacrosse falls 13-11 at Brockport
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – RIT senior Lily DePalma and junior Morgan Nichter each tallied six points in the Tigers 13-11 loss at Brockport, Wednesday.
DePalma finished with five goals and an assist while Nichter tallied four goals and had two assists. Junior Jenna Bovenzi scored a goal and an assist and sophomore Sarah Hallinan scored a goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- DePalma scored 1:44 into the game to give RIT an early lead.
- Alayna Foos tied the score at 1-1 on her goal with 11:56 to play in the opening frame.
- RIT ran off three straight goals taking a 4-1 lead on Bovenzi's goal.
- Brockport scored the final two goals of the quarter cutting the Tiger's lead to 4-3 on Karaline McCarthy's goal inside the final two minutes of the first.
- DePalma scored early in the second quarter to give RIT a 5-3 lead.
- Tristian Davis cut the Tiger's lead to 5-4 before Nichter's goal with 10:02 to play in the half gave RIT a 6-4 lead.
- Foos scored her second goal of the half with 1:40 remaining to cut RIT's lead to 6-5 at the break.
- Brockport outscored RIT 5-1 in the third quarter to lead 10-7.
- Davis scored twice in the quarter for the Golden Eagles and Foos capped off a four-goal run with her tally with 3:08 to play in the quarter to give Brockport a 9-6 lead.
- DePalma scored her fourth goal of the game with 2:23 to play in the quarter to cut Brockport's lead to 9-7.
- McCarthy scored with one second remaining in the third to give the Golden Eagles a 10-7 lead.
- Nichter scored 52 seconds into the fourth quarter to cut Brockport's lead to 10-8.
- Foos scored at the 10:06 mark to give the Golden Eagles an 11-8 lead.
- Nichter scored her second goal of the quarter and fourth of the game with 8:23 to play to make the score 11-9.
- Brockport scored two straight taking a 13-9 lead on Sarah Kilburn's goal with 5:11 to play.
- Hallinan scored with 1:59 remaining to make it 13-10 followed by a DePalma goal with 1:38 to play to make it a 13-11 final.

- First year Grace McDonald made four saves while junior Ellie Ruddy made four stops.
- RIT was 14-of-15 on clearing attempts and won 13-of-25 draw controls.
