Elfering named AHA Rookie of the Week
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first-year forward Caleb Elfering was named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Rookie of the Week, Tuesday.
Elfering totaled three points during RIT's two-game sweep of visiting Air Force last weekend. He started with an assist and blocked two shots in Friday's 5-1 win before adding a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-3 victory.
Tied for third for the Tigers with four points on two goals and two assists, Elfering has tallied a point in three-straight games. He is also the second RIT player in as many weeks to garner an AHA Player of the Week award after junior Crossley Stewart landed Defenseman of the Week honors last Tuesday.
RIT (3-2-0, 2-2-0 AHA) heads to Colgate this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 31-Nov. 1) for their first road games of the season. Faceoff both nights is slated for 7:30 p.m.
