Elliot named Liberty League Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – First-year mid-distance runner John Elliot has been named the 2024-25 Liberty League Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.

Elliot set a program record in the 800m with a time of 1:54.00 at the AARTFC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Mar. 8. At the Liberty League Championships, the Penfield, N.Y. native placed second in the 800m with a 1:54.05 clocking.

The newcomer also ran a leg in the 4x400m relay team that finished seventh at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Elliot also helped the relay set a program record time of 3:16.60 while winning the event at the Liberty League Championships.

Elliot completed the season having won the 800m on three occasions while finishing no worse than fourth place.
