ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT sophomore guard Maddy Ramsgard and first-year guard Caroline Henderson were named to the United States Basketball Writers Association Area (USBWA) Rochester Area Division II-III Teams on Wednesday.
Ramsgard was selected to the First Team as Henderson received Honorable Mention in addition to being named the Rookie of the Year.
Ramsgard, a sophomore transfer, also started every game this season while leading the team in minutes with 32.3 per game. Ramsgard averaged 11.2 points per game, finishing the year with a team-high .487 field goal shooting percentage.
Henderson led the conference in both three-point field goal shooting percentage (.424) and three-point field goals made (72). Her 72 three-pointers made this season is also a program record.
The Pittsburgh native led RIT this season with 13.0 points per game after starting all 27 games, averaging 31.6 minutes per contest.
