Women’s Rowing starts Spring season at Skidmore
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The RIT women's rowing team opened the spring season at a meet hosted by Skidmore on Fish Creek, Saturday.
In the Varsity 8, RIT's boat with Mia Leone, Clara LaChance, Ellen Shepard, Olivia Henry, Jenna Olivieri, Mikaela Simpkinson, Jessica Hall, and coxswain Claire Schwenke came in fourth (7:17) as the hosts, Skidmore, won the event with a time of 6:56.
The Tigers' team of Emily Fitzgerald, Priya Musuku, Natalie Anderson, Abby Desser, Claire O'Farrell, Megumi Prevo, Erin Corr, Julia Callahan and coxswain Maddie Messa placed second in the Third Varsity 8, finishing the race with a time of 6:07 as Vassar took first with a time of 5:50.
Both the Second Varsity 8 and Varsity Four boats came in third place for RIT.
