Softball falls twice in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – The RIT softball team continued play at the Tucson Invitational Games, Sunday.
 
Redlands 10, RIT 2 (6 inn.)

  • RIT opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the third, but Redlands finished the game with 10 unanswered runs to earn the win.
  • Sophomore Bailey Kehl finished 2-for-2 and scored a run.
  • Sophomore Maddy Cook brought home a run with a sacrifice fly.
  • First-year Jessica Majot took the loss, allowing two unearned runs in four innings of work. 

Coe 8, RIT 0

  • Coe broke open a one-run game with four runs in the top of the fourth inning and plated two more in the final two innings to seal the win.
  • Junior Elise Guth, senior Alexis Smith and Cook each had a hit.  
  • First-year Morgan Best took the complete game loss, allowing seven earned runs while striking out four. 

RIT continues play in Arizona on Monday with games against Wisconsin-La Crosse (11:00 AM EST) and Dickinson (3:30 PM EST).
