Women's Soccer surges past Wooster, 4-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team earned a dominant 4-0 victory over visiting Wooster, Saturday. After a scoreless first half, the Tigers erupted for four goals in the second half to remain unbeaten on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the 48th minute, senior forward Elena Onodera opened the scoring with her third goal of the season, assisted by senior defender Roberta Moger.
  • Emma Pedro, a junior midfielder, doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, finishing a pass from Onodera for her first goal of the year.
  • Sophomore midfielder Lily Doucette netted her second goal of the season in the 73rd minute off a feed from Amerie Mills.
  • Doucette struck again just three minutes later in the 76th minute, this time assisted by junior midfielder Anya Sander.

 
GAME NOTES

  • RIT outshot the Fighting Scots 20-1, including an 8-0 advantage in shots on goal.
  • The Tigers earned eight corner kicks, all in the second half.
  • In goal, senior Emily Sanchez and sophomore Avery Donnelly combined for the shutout, with Sanchez earning the win.
  • RIT improved to 3-0-3 on the season, while Wooster dropped to 5-1-0.

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Tigers visit Clarkson next Saturday (Sept. 20) at 2 p.m. for their first Liberty League game of the season.
