Women’s Track & Field takes fifth place at Liberty League Championships
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's track & field team finished in fifth place out of eight teams at the 2025 Liberty League Outdoor Championships at the RIT Track & Field Complex.
The ended the championship meet with 95 points. Rochester won the meet with 193.5 points, just two points ahead of second-place Ithaca. RPI took third with 181 points and Vassar coming in fourth with 101 points.
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Emily DiMarco and first year Ben Kayser-Cochran placed second and third in in the discus with distances of 43.58m and 42.32m, respectively.
- Junior Rania Sabri crossed the finish line in 14.93 seconds in the 100m Hurdles to earn fifth place. Sabri also took third in the triple jump (11.01m) and ran a leg in the 4x100m relay team that was fifth place.
- Senior sprinter Caroline Hill helped the 4x400m relay team to a second-place finish, posting a combined time of 4:01.64. Individually, Hill took third in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:04.66.
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 400m Hurdles prelims, seniors Caroline Hill and Justine Draper, and junior Samantha Crisci all qualified for the finals.
- Junior Rachel Kulp finished fourth in the 100m prelims with a time of 12.32 seconds, advancing to the finals.
- Senior thrower Sonya Shivok earned eight points for RIT in the javelin, placing second with a distance of 37.70m on the final attempt. Sophomores Autumn Bernava and Mia Gerber also earned points after coming in fifth and sixth, respectively.
- In the long jump, senior Allison Regnante took fifth place, leaping 5.36m on the third attempt.
