SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The RIT sophomores Yu Tanimoto and Alexander Sinclair advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles at the 2025 ITA Northeast Championship at Skidmore.
 
DOUBLES:

• Tanimoto and Sinclair beat Jonas Santos and Eugene Lee (Vassar), 8-4 in the round of 32.
• The duo defeated Phillip Martin and Pierre Boullenger (NYU), 8-1 in the round of 16 before an 8-3 loss to Lleyton Mendieta and Villem Aadamsoo (Hmailton) in the quarterfinals.
• Junior Alec Turcotte and first year Evan Ly defeated Zakaria Ahmed and Devan Melando (Farmingdale St.), 8-1 in the round of 64 before an 8-1 loss to Jacob Lineares and Nicholas Fischer (Hobart) in the round of 32.

 
SINGLES:

• Tanimoto defeated Kaustav Guttikonda (NYU) 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 64.
• He defeated Luis Crespo (Ithaca) 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 32 before a straight-set loss to Mustafa Ege Topbass (Skidmore) in the round of 16.
• Ly defeated William Schmid (Oneonta) 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 in the round of 64 before a 0-6, 1-6 loss to Tarun Korwar (Hamilton) in the round of 32.
