RIT selected to host NCAA Div. I Men's Ice Hockey Regional, NCAA Div. III Women's Lacrosse Championship in 2028
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT was selected to host an NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Regional as well as the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship in 2028, announced Wednesday.
"We are excited to be chosen by the NCAA to host two such prestigious events," said RIT Executive Director of Athletics Jacqueline Nicholson. "We look forward to showing off our campus as well as the greater Rochester region and can't wait to welcome all the teams and their supporters to our community."
2028 NCAA DIVISION I MEN'S ICE HOCKEY REGIONAL
• RIT will host two opening-round contests as well as second-round game at the Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester, N.Y.
• The games will either be played on Thursday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 25th or on Friday, March 24th and Sunday, March 26th, to be announced the Sunday prior to the tournament.
• The winner of the regional championship will advance to the Frozen Four, to be played at the United Center in Chicago.
2028 NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP
• RIT will host the two national semifinal games on Friday, May 26th, as well as the National Championship game on Sunday, May 28th.
• The three games will be played on the RIT campus at Tiger Stadium.
