Men's Soccer falls 3-2 to Ithaca

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore defender Adrian Sobczak and senior forward Selorm Dake each scored a goal in the Tigers 3-2 loss to Ithaca, Wednesday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Ithaca's Trevor Barrett scored in the 54th minute to give Ithaca a 1-0 lead.
  • Barrett scored his second goal of the game in the 65th minute to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead.
  • Sobczak converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute that cut Ithaca's lead to 2-1.
  • Dake tied the game with his goal in the 70th minute. Junior forward Gavin Culley sent a pass to sophomore forward Idriss Diallo who fed a pass to Dake. He scored on a shot into the corner for his sixth goal of the season.
  • Dake had a chance in the 78th minute, but his shot sailed over the net just missing the cross bar.
  • Drew Warren scored for Ithaca in the 81st minute to make it a 3-2 final.

 
GAME NOTES:

  • RIT outshot Ithaca, 14-9.
  • RIT had six corner kicks to eight for the Bombers.
  • Sophomore goalie Kristian Dobbek made two saves for the Tigers.

 
WHAT'S NEXT:
RIT returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 24) against Bard at 1:00 p.m. The Tigers will honor the class of 2026 prior to the game.
