Women’s Cross Country places eighth at NCAA DIII Niagara Championships

FREDONIA, N.Y. – RIT sophomore Kathryn Arbegast placed 21st out of 156 runners to lead the Tigers to an eighth place finish at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championship, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Arbegast crossed the finish line with a time of 23:07.1. The sophomore has now been the team's top performer in three races this season.
  • Sophomore Eva Reilly placed 38th overall with a time of 23:36.9 as classmate Therese Georigia came in 52nd with a clocking of 23:57.9.
  • Junior Abigail Thomas rounded out the team scoring for RIT, placing 63rd (24:17.6) as senior Sierra Danieu did not finish the race, pulling out after the first kilometer. At the time, Danieu was running in 30th place.
  • The Tigers tallied 252 points as NYU won the race with 32 points, edging out Geneseo by a mere four points. Rochester was third (107) and Hamilton took fourth (109).
