Men's Hockey falls at New Hampshire, 6-1

DURHAM, N.H. – The RIT Men's Hockey team lost at New Hampshire, 6-1, Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • New Hampshire got on the board with a pair of goals in the first 3:38 of the game. Connor Sweeney dropped a pass to Conor Lovett in the slot for a wrist shot under Tiger first-year goaltender Ethan David's glove, before J.P. Turner skated from the left faceoff circle into the slot and scored on a wrist shot, far post, 30 seconds later.
  • RIT cut the lead in half with a five-on-three power play goal at 9:29 following two Wildcat penalties 36 seconds apart. First-year defenseman Tristan Allen cycled a puck from the top of the zone to sophomore forward Christian Catalano in the bottom of the left faceoff circle. Catalano slipped a pass through traffic in the slot to sophomore forward Tyler Fukakusa, who buried a one-timer inside the right post at 9:29.
  • New Hampshire scored twice in the second for a 4-1 lead. Ryan MacPherson intercepted a pass at the top of the Tiger zone and skated down the slot to score on a wrist shot over David's stick at 7:17. The Wildcats then scored on a delayed penalty after Liam Devlin put a puck on net from the left faceoff circle that Robert Cronin jammed inside the right post at 10:00.
  • New Hampshire scored two more times in the third to close the night. Luke Reid snapped a shot from the slot under David's blocker at 8:59 before MacPherson later backhanded a pass from the right faceoff circle to an open Lovett in the slot for a one-timer inside left post.
