Neff, Blixt named CSC Women's Volleyball Academic All-District

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT graduate students Sydney Neff and Hailey Blixt were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Volleyball Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday.
 
Neff landed her third-consecutive Academic All-District recognition, compiling a 3.90 grade points average while majoring in industrial and product design. Only the third four-time Liberty League All-Conference selection in program history, she was named to the first-team for the third time this fall. Finishing the regular season 14th nationally and first in the Liberty League in assists, she compiled a career-high 1,095 during her final campaign while climbing to seventh in program history with 3,907 career assists.
 
Blixt is a first-time Academic All-District honoree after completing a degree in management information systems last spring with a 3.83. GPA. She led the Liberty League in both digs and service aces this fall, totaling career-highs of 531 and 74, respectively. Blixt finished her career with 1,276 digs, while her 241 service aces rank fourth in program history.
 
CSC Academic All-District selections are nominated based on having a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA while achieving at least sophomore academic standing, along with high achievement on the court.
 
RIT finished the 2024 season with a 19-14 record, including a 4-4 Liberty League record to clinch its sixth-consecutive and 10th overall Liberty League Tournament appearance since joining the conference 13 years ago. The fifth-seeded Tigers upset fourth-seeded Union, 3-2 (25-22, 13-25, 25-21, 13-25, 15-13) to advance to their ninth Liberty League Tournament Semifinal, before falling at top-seeded Ithaca, 3-0 (25-10, 25-21, 25-16).
