RIT Athletics Preview: April 29 - May 5
SOFTBALL
The Tigers went 2-4 this past week, losing doubleheaders to Alfred (4-0, 7-6) and Geneseo (5-2, 8-0), before sweeping Union in a doubleheader(2-1 and 13-12).
In the first game against Union, senior Elise Guth finished 3-for-4 with a triple and scored a run while junior Lillian Rienstra was 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI to back a four-hit complete game victory by sophomore pitcher Jessica Majot. In the second game, juniors Bailey Kehl and Erin Ozminkowski both finished 3-for-4, while junior Maddy Cook earned a team-high 4 RBI with a three-run homer as the Tigers completed a 13-12 comeback victory after being down by 10 runs.
RIT finishes the regular season this week hosting a doubleheader against Nazareth and traveling to Ithaca for a doubleheader this weekend.

MEN'S ROWING
The Tigers hosted St. Lawrence this past weekend for a series of regattas at the Genesee River.
The Varsity-8 boat finished second in the first race (6:17.30), while in the second race, the Second Varsity-8 boat placed first (6:13.50) and the Third Varsity-8 boat finished third (7:07.50).
RIT competes in the Liberty League Championships hosted by Skidmore, Friday.

WOMEN'S ROWING
The Tigers hosted St. Lawrence this past weekend for a series of regattas at the Genesee River.
In the first race, the Varsity-8 boat defeated St. Lawrence, placing first with a finishing time of 7:23.20. The Second Varsity-8 boat also competed in that race and finished third (7:58.40). In the second of two races, the Third Varsity-8 boat finished behind St. Lawrence, crossing the finish line in 8:28.20.

MEN'S LACROSSE
The Tigers defeated No. 9 Union 16-12 on Saturday, clinching the No. 1 seed for the Liberty League Tournament.
Graduate student Luke Pilcher tallied four goals and six points and is now tied for fourth on RIT's all-time scoring list with 266 career points.
RIT will host the Liberty League semifinal on Friday.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Tigers competed at U of R's Twilight event on Friday.
First-year Keenan Gosselin took the top spot in the javelin throw with a distance of 54.62m. Senior Andrew Bernacki placed second (53.29m), followed by junior Elliot Bernacki in fifth (39.28m). First-year Jack DeFeo placed second in the 400 with a time of 48.84, senior Aidan Sheahan finished second in the pole vault with a height of 4.53m, followed by first-year Ryan Swenson in fifth (3.90m). First-year Erich Brown placed second in the high jump (1.95m) and junior Bradley Baybutt finished in fifth (1.85m).
Junior Jonathan Jacobs finished third in the 100, clocking a time of 10.98, directly followed by junior Max Stein in fourth (11.07), sophomore Josh Bedford earned third-place in the 800 (1:56.43). First-year Sean Graves finished third in the 400 hurdles, finishing in 57.79 and graduate student Aidan Hughes earned third-place in the hammer throw (50.87m).

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Tigers competed at U of R's Twilight event on Friday.
Junior Emily DiMarco took the top spot in the discus throw with a distance of 39.87m, followed by first-year Bailee Drummond in third (37.85m). Sophomore Sadie Rose won the 400, clocking a time of 56.27. Junior Caroline Hill finished in third (58.46) and also placed fifth in the 200 in 25.73. Sophomore Marinna Heichberger placed second in the shot put with a distance of 12.53m, directly followed by DiMarco in third with a 12.51m throw.
Graduate student Amelia Gilbert finished third in the 1,500 (4:46.56), followed by junior Sierra Danieu in fifth (4:48.01), senior Abby Carpenter earned third-place in the javelin throw (28.45m). Junior Allison Regnante placed third in the 100 hurdles with a finishing time of 15.47 and also placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.49m. Sophomore Samantha Crisci finished third in the 400 hurdles (1:06.83)

BASEBALL
The Tigers finished the regular season going 2-3, beating Hobart 5-4 on Tuesday, losing at St. John Fisher 8-2 Wednesday, losing to Rochester 7-4 on Friday and splitting a doubleheader at Rochester on Sunday, winning 12-9 and losing 6-5.
In Tuesday's win against Hobart, sophomore Jarin Moses hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, while in the win against Rochester on Sunday, juniors Sam Kulp and Adam Marsh both hit home runs, earning a combined 7 RBI.
RIT clinched the No. 3 seed in the Liberty League Crossover Series and will travel to the No. 3 seed Union for a best-of-three series this weekend.
