RIT Athletics Preview: Sept. 23 - 29
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
RIT went 4-0 over the weekend at the Grove City/Westminster Invitational. The Tigers defeated Thiel 3-1 (15-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-19) and Wooster 3-1 (25-19, 25-27, 25-21, 25-23) on Friday. The following day, RIT won against La Roche 3-1 (25-19, 25-27, 25-21, 25-23) and Grove City 3-2 (11-25, 25-23, 25-18, 14-25, 15-11).
Graduate-student libero Hailey Blixt was named to the all-tournament team after anchoring the Tigers through the four wins. Against Grove City, Blixt totaled a match-high 16 digs, including the 1,000th of her Tiger career, and logged five service aces.
RIT is on the road this week with matches at Nazareth on Tuesday (Sept. 24) before visiting Skidmore (Sept. 27) and St. Lawrence (Sept. 28). The Tigers will also take on Plattsburgh (Sept. 28) at St. Lawarence in a neutral site match.

MEN'S SOCCER
RIT earned a come-from-behind win over Hobart, 2-1, at home on Friday.
After giving up an early goal in the fourth minute of the game, the Tigers equalized in the 42nd minute with a goal from senior defender Daniel Gebura off a corner kick from junior midfielder David Brassie.
First-year forward Da'Vid Robinson scored the game-winner, his first collegiate goal, in the 78th minute.
RIT visit Clarkson on Saturday (Sep. 28) in their lone game of the week.

Sophomore Kathryn Arbegast finished eighth out of 220 runners to lead RIT to eighth place out of 17 teams at the Yellowjacket Invitational.
