Women's track and field places 12th at 2019 All-Atlantic Region Championship

ITHACA, NY - The RIT women's track and field team finished tied for 12th out of 40 teams at the 2019 All-Atlantic Region Championship, from the Athletics and Events Center hosted by Ithaca College on March 1-2.
 
RIT finished with 16 team points, while The College of New Jersey edged The College at Brockport for the team title, 87-85.5.
 
On Saturday, Harley Wilson recorded a third place finish in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 58.73 seconds. Martine Bosch earned a strong fifth-place finish in the mile, recording a time of 5:11.20.
 
Julie McGlensey placed seventh in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.38 seconds. Yesterday, she qualified for the finals with the eighth fastest time in the preliminaries of 9.28 seconds.
 
The 4 x 200-meter relay team of Wilson, Colleen Eckl, Ali Binga and Emily Bernabeo finished eighth overall with a time of 1:47.16.
 
On Friday, Madeline Pizzo finished seventh overall in the shot put, with a throw of 12.18 meters. Samantha Kaplan finished eighth in the pole vault, clearing 3.37 meters on her first attempt. She attempted to clear 3.52 meters, which would have equaled her school record, but was unsuccessful.
 
The Tigers will await potential selections for the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. The 2019 championship takes place next weekend, March 8-9 from the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.
