Men's Rowing competes at the Dad Vail Regatta
PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The RIT men's rowing team competed at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta, Friday and Saturday.
Luke Willett competed in the Varsity Single Scull regattas and he placed ninth in the time trials, clocking a 10:22.24 finish and advancing to the semifinal. In the semifinal, Willett finished in fifth (10:34.14), qualifying for Saturday's final. Willett placed fourth in the final (9:01.82).
The Varsity Pair boat of David Huelsmann and Sam Ferreira earned sixth-place in the preliminary round with a time of 8:53.71 and advanced to the semifinal. Huelsmann and Ferreira finished fourth in the semifinal (8:44.31), qualifying for Saturday's final. The V2 placed third in the final, finishing the race course in 8:02.89.
The Varsity 8+ boat consisting of coxswain Jacob Marrer, Nicolas Langdon, Alex Nenadic, Tyler Emerson, Luka Lasic, Nick Ricotta, Tommy Moore, Emmet Christiansen, Parker Kinsman placed third in their race (6:53.24), followed by the 2 Varsity 8+ boat in sixth (7:02.07). The 2V8+ boat was coxswained by Julia Gill and had Jarid Whitten, Gideon DeMarco, Adam Hunt, Sam Collier, Adrian Edwards, Adam Dernis, Riley McMichael, Nicholas Staley. Both boats advanced to Saturday's semifinal.
In the semifinal, the V8+ boat coxswained by Marrer finished second (6:26.10), directly followed by the 2V8+ boat coxswained by Gill in third (6:36.04). Both boats advanced to the grand final. The V8+ boat finished fourth in the grand final with a time of 6:37.23, directly followed by the 2V8+ boat in fifth (6:48.10).

The Tigers return to the water May 29th for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
