ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's swimming and diving team takes to the pool for the first time in the 2023-24 season on Saturday (Oct. 14) vs. RPI. Here are the six things you need to know about the Tigers.

FOURTH PLACE FINISH
The Tigers placed fourth at the Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships last year. Junior Anna Peshenko earned first place in the 400 IM final, where she set a program record, and also won the 100 and 200 breaststroke finals. Senior KhaVy Sangasy joined Peshenko on the 100 breast stroke podium as she placed third. Seniors Samantha Russell, Emma Thomas and Sangasy made up three-fourths of the 200 free relay team that placed second. Russell finished third in the 50 freestyle, while Sangasy also placed third in the 200 IM.

THE POWER OF PESHENKO
Last season, Peshenko had the team's season-leading times in the 50 breaststroke (31.12), 100 breaststroke (1:04.89), 200 breaststroke (2:19.91), 100 IM (1:01.93) and 400 IM (4:27.76). Peshenko competed in her second NCAA Division III Championships, swimming the 400 IM as well as 100 and 200 breaststroke. The junior swimmer was also named Liberty League Co-Swimmer of the Year.

DOMINANT REGULAR SEASON
