Men's Cross Country finishes fourth at Paul Short Run

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT sophomore Derick Koen finished in first out of 376 runners to lead the men's cross country team to fourth place out of 34 teams Saturday at the Paul Short Run in the Men's College White 8K. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Koen clocked a time of 25:36.5, followed by junior Matt Chaikowsky in 15th with a time of 26:20.7
  • First-year Turner Gill finished in 43rd (26:58.5), senior Zachary Eckhardt in 59th (27:16.2) and sophomore Joe Krenzer in 70th (27:25.8)
  • Senior Nathan Ballay finished in 82nd (27:38.0) and sophomore Evan Owens finished in 128th (28:07.7)
  • Trinity (Tex.) won the team title with 74 points followed by Marywood (122), Swarthmore (153), RIT (188) and Redlands (198) in the top-five

WHAT'S NEXT
RIT will run in the Highlander Invitational, hosted by Houghton, next Saturday (Oct. 7) at 11:00 a.m.
