RIT Athletics Preview: Mar. 4-10

BASEBALL
The Tigers earned their first wins of the season, sweeping William Paterson in a doubleheader on Sunday. RIT won the first game 13-12, and won the second, 3-2.

In game one, sophomore infielders Charlie Slaymaker and Jarin Moses each hit a home run. Graduate student pitcher Eric Sipling earned the win. In game two, Moses hit another home run, while graduate student pitcher Alex Slotter earned the win and graduate student pitcher Matthew Chase was credited with the save.

RIT hosts Alfred State on Tuesday, before heading down south for the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The Tigers earned their first win of the season, defeating Nazareth 20-8 on Saturday.

Sophomore Milena Stephen scored a career-high four goals. 

RIT hosts Brockport on Wednesday, before heading to Puerto Rico for a spring break series.

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Tigers placed eighth out of 38 teams at the Atlantic Region Indoor Championships this past weekend. 

Sophomore Sadie Rose won the 200 (25.09), graduate student Catherine Fox finished second in the pole vault (3.60m), while the distance medley relay team of junior Sierra Danieu, junior Caroline Hill, sophomore Abby Nautel and graduate student Amelia Gilbert palced fourth (12:25.30). Hill also placed sixth in the 400 (58.56) and eighth in the 200 (26.04).

Rose will represent RIT at the NCAA Championships this weekend.

MEN'S HOCKEY
After a week off, the Tigers return to action hosting Robert Morris in a best of three series in the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals this weekend.

MEN'S LACROSSE
The Tigers earned two wins this past week, beating Nazareth 19-9 on Wednesday, before defeating No. 10 York 11-10 on Saturday.

On Wednesday, graduate students Luke Pilcher and Jake Erickson each tallied five points, while on Saturday, Pilcher and Erickson scored two goals each. 

RIT hosts Ursinus on Saturday.
