RIT Athletics Preview: Sept. 4-10
MEN'S SOCCER (0-0-1)
The Tigers opened the season with a 1-1 draw at Brockport Friday night. Senior forward Randy Dickersbach gave the Tigers the lead in 52nd minute off of a corner kick, but Brockport scored in the 88th minute on a penalty kick to tie the game. RIT will host two games this week welcoming Keuka and Geneseo to Tiger Stadium.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
The women's tennis team started the season at the Mary Hosking Invitational at William Smith this past weekend. First year Kira Kronenberg defeated Catherine Zak, 8-0 in her opening singles match in the "A" flight, before falling 8-2 to Angelica Aksdal-Jansen in the second round. The team of senior Jackie Drozd and Kronenberg defeated Haythorn and Levine, 8-2 in their opening "A" flight doubles match, before falling 8-3 in the second round. The Tigers returns to action on Wednesday where they will host Geneseo.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (0-2)
The Tigers started the season with two home games last week, falling, 3-0, to Rochester on Friday and Plattsburgh, 3-1, on Sunday. RIT will host two more home games this week vs. Wheaton (Ill.) and Penn State Behrend.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL (2-2)
The Tigers started the season splitting four matches at the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic (P.A.), including a 3-1 win over Eastern Mennonite on Friday and a 3-0 sweep of Hood on Saturday. The squad will next play three matches at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational this weekend.

MEN'S TENNIS
RIT began their season at the Allegheny Invitational that was held Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the doubles team of juniors Grahith Movva and Christian Berko picked up a 6-4 win and the doubles team of junior Max Chang and first year Luke Weber were 7-6 winners in their doubles match. In singles, Weber, first year Alec Turcotte, first year Gabriel Escobar and junior Verosh Jayanetti all won. In Saturday's doubles, Chang and Weber won their first two matches, 7-5 and, 6-1. First year's Anthony Lounder and Ben Walerstein were 7-5 winners. Saturday, Escobar picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win in his opening match, while Chang was a 6-3, 6-2 winner. Lounder was a 6-3, 6-2 winner and Turcotte was a 7-6, 6-4 winner in his opening singles match. The Tigers return to action at the St. Lawrence Fall Invitational this weekend.
