Women's soccer loses to Rochester, 3-0

Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team opened the 2023 campaign with a 3-0 setback to visiting Rochester, Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first half, Rochester scored three unanswered goals by Mia McGinty (48'), Maya Bravo (65') and Lauren Blanch (74').
  • RIT' junior defender Rachel Marriott put a free kick on goal in the 48th minute, but Yellowjacket keeper Grace Kuropatkin was able to make the save.
  • Tiger first-year midfielder Emma Pedro later took a 15-yard shot the 52nd minute that was just saved over the cross bar.

GAME NOTES

  • Rochester out-shot RIT, 9-4, including seven shots on goal.
  • Rochester had 11 corner kicks compared to RIT's two.
