ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's track & field team placed fifth out of 13 teams at the U of R Invitational, Sunday.

Buffalo took the top spot with 125 points, followed by host Rochester (119.5) and Geneseo (100) in the top-three. RIT finished with 88.5 points

Highlights:

• Senior Andrew Bernacki won the javelin throw with a distance of 56.64m
• First-year Jacen Mitchell finished second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.56
• First-year Jack DeFeo earned second-place in the 400 (49.52)
• The 4x400 relay team of junior Max Stein, sophomore Ryan Senf, sophomore Josh Bedford and DeFeo, finished second with an Atlantic Region Championship qualifying time of 3:22.16
• Stein finished second in the 400 hurdles with an Atlantic Region Championship qualifying time of 54.60, followed by Mitchell in fifth (56.26)
• First-year Michael Paoletti placed third in the 5,000 with a time of 16:17.10
• Senior Aidan Sheahan finished fourth in the pole vault (4.16m)
• Sophomore Michael Sardo earned fourth-place in the 200 with a finishing time of 22.57

WHAT'S NEXT
The Tigers split up next weekend, competing at the Brockport Invitational (Apr. 12-13), and the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell (Apr. 13-14).
