ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT softball team split a doubleheader against St. Lawrence, winning 13-5 (5 inn.) and falling 11-1 (5 inn.), Friday.

GAME ONE – RIT 13, St. Lawrence 5 (5 inn.)
Junior first baseman Erin Ozminkowski goes 2-for-2, scoring three runs and hitting a two-run homer to help the Tigers defeat St. Lawrence 13-5 in game one of a Friday doubleheader.

• The Saints scored three runs in the first on an RBI single, an RBI double and an error by the Tigers defense
• In the bottom of the first, junior shortstop Lillian Rienstra hit an RBI single that scored senior right fielder Elise Guth. A few batters later, Rienstra scored from third on a passed ball and then designated player Maria Minemier hit a single up the middle that scored Ozminkowski, tying the game at three
• One inning later, junior catcher Bailey Kehl grounded out to second, but was able to score second baseman Emma Merkley. The next batter, junior center fielder Maddy Cook, singled to center and scored Reinstra from third. With Cook on first, Ozminkowski sent the first pitch of her at-bat over the left field wall, putting RIT up 7-3
• St. Lawrence tacked on one more run in the third on an RBI single to right center
• In the bottom of the third, Rienstra earned an RBI single that scored Merkely and gave the Tigers a 8-4 advantage
• The Saints scored one more run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, cutting RIT's lead to three
• The Tigers scored five runs in the fifth on a 2 RBI double from Kehl and RBI singles from Cook, junior left fielder Kristin Hino and Minemier

GAME TWO – St. Lawrence 11, RIT 1 (5 inn.)
The Tigers lost game two of the doubleheader 11-1 (5 inn.), Friday.

• St. Lawrence took an early 4-0 lead in the first on a 3 RBI double and a sacrifice fly
• Junior center fielder Maddy Cook doubled to left center in the bottom of the first and scored junior catcher Bailey Kehl, cutting the Saints' lead to three
• St. Lawrence scored three more runs in the second, taking a 7-1 lead
• The Saints scored two runs in each the third and fourth innings, increasing their lead to 10
• The Tigers first three batters all recorded outs in the bottom of the fifth, ending the game
