Women's Hockey wins 3-2 at Assumption

WORCESTER, MA – RIT senior forward Nicole Ness scored a goal to lead the Tigers to a 3-2 win at Assumption, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Junior forward Megan McCormick scored at 6:21 of the first period on assists from first-year Linda Rulle and senior Chloe McNeil.
  • Ness beat Assumption goalie Carissa Mudrak on a shot from the face-off circle at 16:07 to give RIT a 2-0 lead.
  • Sheridan Terrazzano scored 1:45 into the second period to cut the RIT lead in half.
  • Sophomore Lexi Sung scored at 7:42 off assists from sophomore defensewoman Camryn Brownschidle and junior forward Kylie Aquaro to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead.
  • Coe made a pad-save on a penalty shot at 15:27 of the second after first-year Emma Pickering was whistled for a penalty.
  • Jenna Champlain poked in a loose puck in front of the RIT net at 11:48 of the third period to cut the Tiger's lead to 3-2.

 
GAME NOTES

  • RIT outshot Assumption, 41-19
  • The Tigers won 33 draws, including 11 from senior forward Lindsay Maloney
  • Rulle, Pickering and sophomore defenswoman Camryn Brownschidle each recorded their first collegiate points
  • Junior goalie Sarah Coe made 18 saves to earn the win.
