Men's Swimming & Diving remains on top after second day of Liberty League Championships
ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT men's swimming & diving team remains in first place with 726 points after the second day of competition at the Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships.
RIT holds the top spot with 726 points, followed by host Ithaca (702.5) and RPI (588.5) in the top-three.
Events begin at 10:00 a.m. each day, followed by final events starting at 6:00 p.m. Stay tuned for daily updates.
Thursday Highlights:
- Senior Drew Scheib won the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.36, followed by senior Mike Atanasoff in third (49.54) and junior Jake Sapp in fourth (49.82)
- The relay team of junior Jake Sapp, junior Ben Sippel, senior Mike Atanasoff and senior Drew Scheib placed second in the 400 medley relay
- Junior Kai Louie finished fifth in the 200 freestyle
Wednesday Highlights:
- Junior Gellert Kish (580.15), first-year Luke Albanese (546.55) and senior Neko Ferrara (529.00) finished 1-2-3 in the 3-meter dive. Kish's first place effort qualified him for a spot in the NCAA Regionals
- Senior Mike Atanasoff placed second in the 50 free with a time of 20.30
- Senior Drew Scheib finished second in 200 IM with a program record time of 1:50.09
- The 200 medley relay team of graduate student Westin Perry, junior Ben Sippel, Atanasoff and Scheib placed second with a program record time of 1:29.35
