  • The Tigers look to snap a two-game slide following losses at Niagara, 3-1, last Thursday and home to Canisius, 3-2 OT, on Tuesday, marking the first time RIT lost back-to-back games this season.
  • RIT was ranked in the USCHO.com national poll for the ninth-consecutive week, falling one spot to No. 20 after climbing as high as No. 18 last month. The Tigers also lauded their sixth-straight ranking in the USA Hockey poll, sitting No. 20 for the second-straight week after four at No. 19.
  • RIT entered the weekend 18th in scoring offense averaging 3.23 goals per game and 14th in scoring defense allowing 2.45 goals per game to rank 14th with a 0.77 scoring margin. The Tigers' penalty kill was also ranked 13th (.843).
  • RIT junior forward Tanner Andrew and first-year forward Christian Catalano each tallied a goal in Tuesday's setback as Canisius came back to tie the game twice, including 2-2 with 5:16 left in regulation before notching the game-winner with 2:51 left in overtime.
  • RIT out-shot the Golden Griffins, 46-31, but goaltender David Fessenden stopped a career-high 44 shots, including 20 in the third period, to hold the Tigers at bay. Canisius went 2-for-8 on the power play, while RIT finished 1-for-6 as the teams combined for 14 penalties and 28 PIM.
  • Fifth-year defenseman Gianfranco Cassaro notched an assist on Andrew's tally for his 60th career point and 17th of the season. He (2G/3A) and first-year forward Matthew Wilde (4G/1A), who also added an assist for his 15th point of the season, each have a team-best five points in six games to start the second semester.
  • RIT will face Robert Morris for its second series of the season after defeating the visiting Colonials, 4-1 and 6-2, on Dec. 1-2. The Tigers built a decisive 3-0 lead early in the third period en route to the opening win, before finishing the rematch with five-unanswered goals, including two by sophomore forward Philippe Jacques, to complete the sweep. Graduate student transfer Luke Lush backstopped the second victory with 32 saves for his first 30-plus save effort in a Tiger sweater.
  • Junior goaltender Tommy Scarfone was named to the Richter Award Watch List for the second-straight season last Friday. Scarfone currently ranks third nationally with a .929 save percentage and 10th with a 2.27 goals against average. He enters the Robert Morris weekend with a 42-26-3 record – one win shy of the Tigers' D1-era program record 43 compiled by Logan Drackett '21. He is also 23 saves short of becoming only the third D1-era goaltender to eclipse 2,100 saves with 2,077 to date.
  • Junior forward Carter Wilkie moved up to second nationally entering the weekend with 306 faceoff wins, including an 18-of-24 showing versus Clarkson in which he also notched an assist to move into a tie for 21st in program history (D1-era) with his 88th career point.
  • Cassaro entered the weekend in a three-way tie for first nationally among defenseman with nine goals as well as tied for second among all skaters with five game-winning goals. He also leads RIT with four power-play goals. Wilde is tied with Cassaro for the team goal lead and is second with three power play goals.
  • Senior forward Cody Laskosky is tied with Wilkie (8G/10A) for the team lead with 18 points and is tied with senior defenseman Aiden Hansen-Bukata with 12 assists.
  • With the 1-1 tie versus St. Lawrence (Jan. 6), RIT completed the non-conference portion of the 2023-24 season with a 4-3-1 record, marking the fifth-consecutive season the Tigers went .500 or better outside of league play. RIT also owns a 15-12-2 mark the last five years versus the other five conferences with at least a .500 record versus the ECAC (8-5-2), CCHA (2-0) and Hockey East (3-3), while going 2-4 versus the Big 10.
