Women's Soccer defeats Clarkson, 2-0
POTSDAM, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 2-0 road victory over Clarkson in their Liberty League opener Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 51st minute, senior defender Jillian Antol converted a penalty kick to give RIT a 1-0 lead after Clarkson goalkeeper Kenzie Roth was issued a yellow card.
- Less than two minutes later, RIT doubled its lead with an own goal by the Golden Knights in the 53rd minute, following a scramble in front of the net.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot Clarkson 12-to-8, including a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.
- Senior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez made four saves to earn her third shutout of the season.
- Antol led all players with four shots on goal and scored her first goal of the season.
- RIT held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
- The Tigers improve to 4-0-3 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.
