NCAA Cross Country Championships Preview

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore Derick Koen and graduate student Amelia Gilbert will compete in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, hosted by Dickinson, Saturday.
 
KOEN

  • Koen received an at-large invite after finishing 11th out of 176 runners at the NCAA Division III Niagara Region Championships this past Saturday.
  • The Rochester, N.Y. native was RIT's top finisher in five races this season, including four top-20 finishes
  • Koen finished first at Lehigh's Paul Short Run (Sept. 30) and Houghton's Highlander Invitational (Oct. 7)

GILBERT

  • Gilbert earned an at-large invite based on her 16th-place finish out of 145 runners at the NCAA Division III Niagara Region Championships this past Saturday.
  • The Syracuse, N.Y. native was RIT's top finisher in three of the Tigers' races this season, including two top-10 finishes
  • Gilbert earned a team-best 12th-place finish at the Paul Short Run (Sept. 30) and a sixth-place finish at the Liberty League Championships (Oct. 28).

 
This year's NCAA championships will be held at Big Spring High School in Newville, P.A. The men's race is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start, followed by the women's race at 12:00 p.m.
