Men's and Women's Cross Country to compete in Liberty League Championships Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Liberty League Championships, hosted by Hobart and William Smith, on Saturday (Oct. 28).

The men's race is scheduled for 11:00 a.m, while the women race begins at 12:00 p.m. 

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

  • The Tigers finished in fourth place out of nine teams at last year's Liberty League Championships
  • RIT's best finish of the 2023 season was a first place effort out of 11 teams at the Houghton Highlander Invitational 
  • Sophomore Derick Koen has been the Tigers' top runner this year, including a first place finish out of 151 runners at the Highlander Invitational 
  • Senior Zachary Eckhardt and sophomore Evan Owens were the Tigers' second and third finishers in four races this season

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

  • The Tigers finished fifth out of nine teams at last season's Liberty League Championships
  • RIT's best finish of the regular season was at the Lehigh Paul Short Run where the Tigers finished in second place out of 36 teams in their division
  • Senior Katie Cobos has been the Tigers' top-runner this season, including a first-place finish at the Terry Rodenbeck Invitational and a second-place finish at the Highlander Invitational
  • Graduate student Amelia Gilbert and junior Sierra Danieu were the Tigers' second and third finishers in half of RIT's races
